Forbes Magazine has compiled another list. This one was about The Most Overpaid Celebrities. They were considered overpaid because their works did not rake in as much cash as they were paid.
- Russell Crowe.
He was the highest paid actor with “Gladiator” but has since dropped in earnings. He was considered overpaid because he could not maintain his box office magnetism after Gladiator.
- Jim Carrey.
He commanded $20 million although his films flopped miserably. He was overpaid for “Fun with Dick and Jane.” His next film, “Yes Man”, could not offer him any salary in advance.
- Will Ferrell.
He was overpaid with a $20 mllion salary but his movie, “Telladega Nights”, did not make a windfall.
- Jennifer Lopez’ movies like “Gigli”, “Monster-in-Law” and “Shall We Dance” did not make enough money to please the studios.
- Adam Sandler.
His movies failed to take off.

6. Cameron Diaz.
Her live action movies grossed small, modest sums but she was overpaid for making them.
7. Denzel Washington.
His movies were a gamble. They did not make money all the time.
8. Will Smith.
Some of his small movies did not perform well.
9. Tom Cruise.
His “Mission: Impossible III” did poorly so he was dropped by Paramount studios.
10. Nicole Kidman.
